“Euphoria”, Night Teeth and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney has confirmed she’s planning female web-woman Spider-Woman in the upcoming feature film adaptation of Marvel’s Madame-Web.
Speaking with Variety, Sydney talked about landing the role of Julie Carpenter in the film headlined by Dakota Johnson in the title role.
“I was freaking out, of course. I went straight to the comic store, and I bought every comic that mentioned my character.”
The actor adds, “I think it’s different from what people expect a superhero movie to be.”
Sweeney also hinted that her character will appear in other films across the MCU.
The S.J Clarkson directed film, also starring Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet, is set to open February 16, 2024.
