Early ‘80s visual effects showcase Dreamscape, starring Dennis Quaid and Kate Capshaw, is the next film to get the trendy reboot treatment.
The original 1984 film saw Quaid play psychic Alex Gardner, who subjects himself to government sponsored experiments. Gardner’s mentor Dr. Paul Novotny (Max von Sydow) develops a technique that allows the psychic to enter others’ minds as they dream.
The reboot, which will reportedly introduce a virtual reality spin to the original concept, will be directed by music video director come feature film wiz Spike Jonez.
The film is being produced for Netflix.
