A recently-announced small-screen take on Andrew Niccols’ Gattaca will reportedly see Ethan Hawke, the male lead in the 1997 film, reprise his role of Vincent.
The oft-reliable bunch at Giant Freakin Robot, who have the scoop, add that “sonsidering Hawke is 26 years older than he was when he originated the role, this would seem to indicate that, rather than a reboot in the narrative sense, Showtime’s series will be a continuation of the film.”
”Homeland” duo Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa are spearheading the series with Craig Borten on the adaptation for Showtime.
The flick starred Hawke and Uma Thurman and was set in a not-too-distant future where eugenics is common and genetic discrimination is illegal.
