Urban Legend and “Twin Peaks” alum Alicia Witt – she was Gersten, for those only-occasional viewers (why!?) of the classic series – will co-star alongside upcoming Dracula Nicolas Cage (Renfield) in Longlegs, a new horror-thriller from writer-director Osgood Perkins.
Maika Monroe and Blair Underwood are also onboard the film, currently in production in freezing Vancouver.
Per Deadline, Longlegs follows “FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe), a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”
Rialto will release the film in Australia, while Neon are said to be circling domestic rights.
Witt, also a talented singer-songwriter, is known for her role in David Lynch’s Dune, Mr Holland’s Opus, Vanilla Sky, and the recent Netflix comedy I Care A Lot. She’s also remembered for her role opposite Cybill Shepherd in “Cybill”.
