Remakes are still as trendy as lip-syncing on TikTok, it would seem.
Sony is said to be returning to the jungles for a new Anaconda, according to internet scooper Daniel RPK. Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) would direct the film, likely a big screen venture for an I.P that’s been relegated to low-budget streaming in recent years.
Meanwhile, a remake of Faces of Death starring Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things”) and Barbie Ferreira (“Euphoria”) is set up at Legendary Entertainment, per THR. Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber will be at the helm.
“Faces of Death was one of the first viral video tapes, and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online,” said Mazzei and Goldhaber in a statement.
Last but not least, Guillermo del Toro will direct a new version of Frankenstein over at Netflix, says Deadline. The live-action pic – as opposed to his Oscar winning animated gem Pinnochio– is eyeing a big-name cast including Andrew Garfield, Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth.
