Robert Downey Jr will play the Jimmy Stewart role in a remake of Hitchcock’s Vertigo for Paramount Pictures.
The Zodiac star will produce alongside wife Susan and David Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox. Steven Knight will write the script for the redo of the 1958 film, which told of a former police detective forced to retire after a line of duty trauma that leaves him with fear of heights and vertigo.
Paramount made the original film too.
