‘Ghostbusters’ sequel casting new lead, supporting players

News yesterday that Ghostbusters : Afterlife 2 had hired Gil Kenan to direct, and was reuniting much of the original cast of Jason Reitman’s 2021 film, suggested the film is quickly inching before the cameras.

Now, courtesy Daniel RPK, word on a couple of new characters that will be either straddling proton packs or calling Ghostbusters.

They are casting for these new characters for the sequel, says the industry insider :

Misty is an LGBTQ character, 16-19 of age, and “uses her dark wit to cut through the daily grind of city life.”

Misty will be a lead character alongside the other cast, which includes Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Ernie Hudson and Finn Wolfhard.

Miko, 25-25, is “James Dean with a PhD in physics” who is “uncontrollably violent”.

An named male, 25-25, that has a “childhood obsession with mythical creatures”, and is obsessed win inter dimensional beings, with a PhD in biology is also being cast

The latter two are supporting players.

Hopefully we’ll hear soon whether OG Ghostbusters will also be returning for more.
