The Hunger Games‘ Francis Lawrence was attached to direct a sequel to I Am Legend, with Will Smith back in lead, a few years ago.
Since then, Disney nabbed Fox, Smith’s rep was damaged, and everything went quiet on the sequel.
Lawrence, attached to direct a Constantine sequel, tells ComicBook.com he’d still do I Am Legend 2 and suggests it might be inching forward.
“I have spoken to Akiva [Goldsman] a little bit about it, but I think that is still a ways away. I’d love to do it. I’ve heard some things about I Am Legend. We actually don’t have much, just brainstorming things for Constantine, but I’m sworn to secrecy on I Am Legend.”
Sounds like it’s a likely, then!?
