A twitter user let rip yesterday with a ludicrous rumor suggesting that Disney are going to have Phoebe Waller-Bridge play the Indiana Jones films from here on out – with one possible ending of the upcoming Indiana Jones 5 seeing Ford’s ageing archeologist dying and just before closing his eyes, passing his whip and hat to his on-screen goddaughter.
While it’s true Waller-Bridge is playing Ford’s on-screen goddaughter in the 2023 release, there’s no truth to the rumor that the actress is stepping into the main role. Director James Mangold has slammed the rumor.
But not true! So not awful!

According to Mangold, there haven’t been any test screenings and further, there’s only one Indiana Jones – and always will be.
