Brendan Fraser tells Variety that he’s open to the idea of another Mummy movie.
“I don’t know how it would work. But I’d be open to it if someone came up with the right conceit.”
As for the Tom Cruise-starring reboot, Fraser suggests the film’s lack of ‘fun’ was one main reason why the film failed at the box office.
“That was what was lacking in that incarnation. It was too much of a straight-ahead horror movie. ‘The Mummy’ should be a thrill ride, but not terrifying and scary,” Fraser continued. “I know how difficult it is to pull it off. I tried to do it three times.”
Meanwhile, former Scream star David Arquette tells Comic Book Movie that he’s open to reprising ‘Dewey’ should the producers find a creative way to reintroduce the character in a future instalment.
“Who knows, anything is possible. I mean, how many movies have Jason or Mike Myers been in? Not that Dewey’s a killer, but there is a coming-back-to-life element within these horror films.”
Arquette’s last appearance as the character was in last year’s Scream reboot, the fifth in the series.
