Sam Raimi in talks for Darkman 2 at Universal

The ’90s comic book movie starred Liam Neeson and Larry Drake

Universal Pictures

“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “Evil Dead” helmer Sam Raimi says there’s talks underway to resurrect vengeance-driven Dr. Peyton Westlake aka Darkman on the big screen.

Despite not being involved in the two straight-to-video sequels or the television pilot that was never aired, seems Raimi would be back for what would be purportedly “Darkman 2”.

The veteran filmmaker tells The Wrap, “Universal is talking about a Darkman sequel. There’s a producer attached. I haven’t heard the story yet or gone into it, I’ve been so busy with (Doctor Strange). But I think it’s cool.”

Raimi suggested if original star Liam Neeson were available to return to the role it would be “incredible”.
