“Scream 4” alum Hayden Panettiere will reprise her role as Kirby Reed for the next instalment in Spyglass and Paramount’s long-running horror franchise.
As revealed in the recent “Scream” (2022), Panettiere survived her dance with Ghostface in Wes Craven’s 2011 sequel, paving the way for Kirby to join returning players Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega for the Radio Silence-crafted follow-up.
While plot details are under wraps, The Hollywood Reporter says the new film will be set in another city to Woodsboro – which makes sense considering this sequel will shoot in Canada as opposed to the U.S.
“Scream 6″ “continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter”, says the trade.
James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick return to co-write the screenplay while Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return to direct. Pic lenses in the summer.
