Despite early suggestions she may be joining former onscreen flame Tobey Maguire in the film, actress Kirsten Dunst says she definitely won’t be reprising her Mary Jane Watson role for the upcoming “Spider-Man : No Way Home”.
With cast members from both the Sam Raimi-directed “Spider-Man” movies, as well as Marc Webb’s “Amazing Spider-Man” films joining Tom Holland and co for Sony’s latest “Spider-Man” movie it was a fair assumption Dunst might make an appearance.
Not so, confirms the 39-year-old actress.
“I’m not in that movie, no [laughs]. I know there’s rumors, right? No, I’m the only one [not in it]. Can’t put an old girl in there!”
Dunst also confirmed she hasn’t seen any of Holland’s “Spider-Man” films – it’s just not her type of film, she says.
“I haven’t seen any of them. I don’t watch superhero movies, though. I don’t watch anything like that, It’s just not my kind of movie. I can’t tell you the last time I saw one. I think I saw maybe Captain America with my friend in a theater, which was – what? – a long time ago when that first came out. I just don’t watch them.”
Hmmm, I wonder if that means something has happened to Mary Jane when we catch up again with Maguire’s Peter Parker in the December release?
