With the character still one of the bigscreen draw cards, and despite even most other DC characters now regular fixtures of The CW, Warner Bros has successfully kept Batman strictly for the multiplex. Even back when the producers of “Smallville” wanted to use Bruce Wayne on the show, they were refused permission. Batman, it seems, is a no-go zone.
According to industry insider Daniel Richtman, The CW is about to try their luck again – asking Warner Bros permission to develop their own live-action Batman series for the network.
With a big emphasis on the multiverse in the DCEU – we’ll have three different Batmans on the big screen in 2022! – there’s likely a better chance now of The CW at least considering the proposition.
