Tom Cruise as Green Lantern?
Could happen – likely won’t.
Still, Giant Freakin Robot are reporting that Thomas Mapother Cruise IV is being sought to lead Warner’s forthcoming “Green Lantern Corps” movie. That film, which, will reportedly feature several different Lanterns. Considering Cruise is 59, he’d likely work best as an older, seasoned Lantern – a’la Michael Keaton’s Batman in the forthcoming “The Flash” – as opposed to a young buck that gets his shot at the ring.
This isn’t the first time Cruise’s name has been linked to a high-profile superhero gig; many, many years ago – years before Robert Downey Jr was even a blip on the casting director’s radar – the “Top Gun : Maverick” actor was briefly attached to play Tony Stark in an earlier incarnation of “Iron Man”. Cruise was apparently quite big on playing the role, a fan of the character it seems, but fate had other plans.
Might “Green Lantern” be a good move for Cruise as the “Mission : Impossible” series dwindles down?
Ryan Reynolds would seemingly think so :
