Ghostbusters : Afterlife moves to January 1, 2022

The highly-anticipated revival, originally due for release earlier this year

The god-awful pandemic continues to tick on, opening and closing theaters at every turn. As a result, no surprise to hear Sony Pictures Releasing has shifted the release date of “Ghostbusters : Afterlife” in Australia.

The highly-anticipated revival, originally due for release earlier this year, is being nudged from December 2 to January 1, 2022.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mum and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.

The Ivan Reitman produced film stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd, with OG castmembers Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson also returning.
