“Dune” actor Timothée Chalamet will play the legendary chocolatier in “Wonka,” a musical prequel in the works at Warner Bros.
According to Variety, the film will explore the upbringing of the man who created the chocolate house at the center of the Roald Dahl book and Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp films, respectively.
Chalamet’s reps confirm he will be singing and dancing in the movie.
The classic book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” follows a poor boy named Charlie Bucket, who wins a golden ticket to tour the world-famous and heavily guarded chocolate factory run by one Willy Wonka.
